There are no direct flights to Florianópolis from Canada or the US, the most common connection is through São Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). From São Paulo, there are many daily flights to Florianópolis, and the flight time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Flying from Toronto?

Air Canada offers a direct flight from Toronto to São Paulo (GRU), with a duration of about 11 hours.

Flying from Vancouver?

You will likely transit through a U.S. city, then continue on to São Paulo (GRU) before your final flight to Florianópolis.

Booking tip:

Flights to Brazil can fluctuate in price, especially around holidays and peak travel periods. We recommend booking your flight at least 3 to 6 months in advance to secure the best fares and ideal connections. Setting up price alerts can also help you monitor deals.

Visa requirement:

Canadian and U.S. citizens are required to have a visa to enter Brazil. Please be sure to check the current requirements and apply online on this website.

The application process is fully online and processing times are approximately 10 business days, but we encourage our guests to apply well in advance to avoid any last-minute issues.

The wedding weekend festivities will take place on the north side of Florianópolis. Our wedding venue, Folha Beach Club, is located in Jurerê Internacional, so we recommend staying in or near this area.

There are plenty of accommodation options available, including hotels and Airbnbs in and around Jurerê Internacional.

We’ve secured discounted rates at three hotels located in Jurerê Internacional exclusively for our wedding guests. All prices listed are per room and include breakfast. Children up to 5 years old stay free in double rooms. Rates are based on Brazilian Reais (BRL) and displayed here in Canadian Dollars (CAD) for your convenience. Final prices may vary slightly depending on the exchange rate at the time of booking. The suggested dates can be adjusted according to what works best with your travel plans.

Uber is available in Jurerê Internacional and throughout Florianópolis. Transportation to and from the wedding venue will be provided, so there’s no need to worry about driving on the big day.

However, if you plan to explore the island (which we highly recommend), we suggest renting a car. Some areas of Florianópolis are more remote, where Uber may not be available. Public transit is limited and can be a bit tricky for non-Portuguese speakers — so a rental car will give you the most freedom and convenience.

The drive from the Florianópolis airport to Jurerê Internacional takes about 45 minutes, but during peak traffic hours it can take significantly longer — sometimes even double. Please keep this in mind when planning your transportation.
